Kotobukiya Shizuka Mogami 1/8: Japan-Only, Closes Oct 27

Kotobukiya opened orders on September 14 for a 1/8 Shizuka Mogami from the 2023 THE iDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE! anime, and there are two dates and one restriction that matter more than the figure itself: it is sold only through ASOBI STORE and Kotobukiya Shop, both Japan-facing, and the maker’s order book closes on October 27, 2026 JST. It is ¥23,100 (about $155) and is listed for release in May 2027. There is no export-shop route on this one at all, which is the part that catches most overseas buyers out.

Kotobukiya’s post points out that September 14 is Shizuka’s birthday; orders opened on the day.

Why the October 27 date is the real deadline

Kotobukiya produces its figures 受注生産 — to order. Its post spells out what that means: the production run is fixed from the pre-order count at the maker cut-off, orders can close before release once that ceiling is hit, and there may be no free stock in the release month at all. Kotobukiya flags that the risk is sharper here specifically because this product’s distribution is limited.

So October 27 is not a soft “order by” suggestion. It is the point at which the size of this production run gets decided.

The part that makes this awkward from abroad

Neither AmiAmi nor HobbyLink Japan carries it, and we would not expect them to — this is a two-shop exclusive, and neither of those shops is one of them. Checked on September 14, HLJ lists Shizuka badges, keychains and towels but not this figure, and AmiAmi returns nothing for it. That leaves a forwarding service. Two things to get right if you go that route. Order inside the maker window rather than waiting, because the proxy has to place the order at the Japanese shop like any other domestic customer. And budget for the May 2027 leg: a proxy holds the item, then ships it on, which means a second round of fees and a second address to keep current for eight months.

What you actually get

The figure is based on a newly drawn illustration of three of the idols in the anime’s Starting Bloom outfits. Two bases are included: a compact standard one, and an acrylic base with a printed background sheet. That sheet is where the 333 mm figure in the table comes from — Kotobukiya says the idols printed on it are drawn at roughly the same 1/8 scale as the figure itself.

Kotobukiya’s stated plan is for that background sheet to line up with two more figures in the series, Tsubasa Ibuki and Mirai Kasuga, so the three bases together display all 39 MILLIONSTARS members. If you want that effect, this first one is the piece you cannot skip, and its window closes first.

Before you commit
