TAMASHII NATIONS has launched a new figure brand called ABSOLUTE ACT, and its first release is the Strike Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY: about 185 mm tall, ¥16,500 (about $110) tax-in, shipping March 2027. Retail pre-orders opened August 27, 2026 JST. This is a general-retail product, not a Premium Bandai exclusive, and Bandai’s page lists the USA among the regions where it will be sold, so US shops and export retailers can carry it.
The catch for overseas buyers is that the first wave went fast: HobbyLink Japan already shows the item as “order stop” with its pre-order allocation full, at ¥14,700. If you want one from the first run, watch for other shops’ allocations and for Bandai’s US channel rather than waiting for a restock notice.
What ABSOLUTE ACT is
Bandai describes ABSOLUTE ACT as a brand built specifically for action posing. The tagline on the product page is “想いのまま、動かせ” (roughly “move it however you want”), and the pitch is not about paint or die-cast weight but about how far the figure can be pushed into dynamic poses.
The core of it is what Bandai calls the ABSOLUTE ACTION SYSTEM, a set of joint mechanisms in the neck, shoulders and waist. The product page names three: a rail mechanism in the waist, a neck that slides forward, and pull-out shoulders. Together these are meant to allow the twisting, leaning, arms-forward silhouettes that a standard ball-jointed figure struggles to reach.
Two other design decisions set it apart from Bandai’s higher-end lines. The sculpt is deliberately adjusted for action poses rather than a strict standing profile, and the body is built from ABS in molded colors with paint used for contrast, rather than a fully painted finish. Bandai frames the molded colors as a feature for playability: a figure you can handle and pose freely. Next to a fully painted, die-cast METAL BUILD Strike Freedom, this is the one you actually play with.

Where to pre-order
Bandai’s page links Amazon Japan, AmiAmi, Sofmap, Bic Camera and Yodobashi for Japan, Tamashii Spot shops in Asia, and Amazon plus Premium Bandai USA for the US. HobbyLink Japan opened at ¥14,700 but has stopped taking orders for now; it says it may accept more once stock arrives. AmiAmi’s listing is the next place to check, and Bandai names Amazon as a US channel, so watch for a listing there as well. If everything sells through, a proxy service is the fallback; see our Buyee vs ZenMarket comparison.
Bandai opened two other TAMASHII NATIONS pre-orders on the same day: the METAL STRUCTURE Gundam Mk-II and the Saint Cloth Series Pegasus Cloth. More SEED DESTINY items will collect on the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny hub as they are announced.
Most Japanese shops ship worldwide by EMS/DHL (7–14 days). Duties and import taxes are charged on delivery in most countries — check your local threshold before ordering.
