Saint Cloth Series Returns: Pegasus Cloth, ¥11,000, Jan 2027

Bandai revives the 1980s Saint Cloth Series with Pegasus Seiya at ¥11,000, due January 2027; the first run adds the Cloth Box. Pre-orders open now.

Bandai Spirits is reviving the Saint Cloth Series (聖闘士聖衣大系), the 1980s toy line that put die-cast armor on a poseable body, and the first release is Pegasus Seiya’s Bronze Cloth at ¥11,000 (about $75). Retail pre-orders opened August 27, 2026 JST for a January 2027 release, and the first production run comes with a reproduction of the Cloth Box that was a campaign item back in the day.

This is a general-retail item and Bandai lists the USA among its sales regions, so expect US shops to list it. HobbyLink Japan already has it at ¥9,700, but its cancellation deadline (August 26) has passed, so check availability before counting on that slot. The Cloth Box is first-run only, which is the reason to order now rather than wait.

What the Saint Cloth Series is

Bandai describes this as the line’s first appearance in about 40 years. The format is the original one: a fully jointed body, a set of Cloth armor parts that attach to it, and an “object frame” so the armor can be rebuilt into the Pegasus totem form for display. Part of the Cloth is die-cast.

Rather than a straight reissue, Bandai says it scanned the original Cloth, body and frame to match the vintage proportions, then reworked Seiya’s face with current sculpting while keeping the look of the original release, and improved how the armor fits.

Why this matters for overseas buyers

Saint Cloth Myth has been the main way to buy Bandai’s Seiya armor figures new for years; a factory-new Pegasus in the vintage Saint Cloth Series proportions is something most US collectors have never had the chance to buy at retail.

Because pre-orders are already open, the first run is what shops are taking orders for now. If the Cloth Box matters to you, order from a shop that confirms it is allocating first-run stock.

Where to pre-order
