Bandai Spirits is bringing back its Origin of Valkyrie VF-1S Roy Focker Special as the second release in the line’s revival, this time bundled with a Super Pack, at ¥19,800 (about $130). Retail pre-orders open September 1, 2026 JST and the set ships in March 2027, carrying Bandai’s “45th Anniv.” branding for Macross.

For overseas buyers the Super Pack is the point, and because this is a general-retail item rather than a Tamashii Web Shop exclusive, no Premium Bandai proxy is needed.

What is in the box

Origin of Valkyrie is Bandai’s transforming VF-1 line at a smaller size than DX Chogokin: Bandai gives this VF-1S as roughly 250 mm long in fighter mode and 260 mm tall in battroid mode with the Super Pack fitted, in ABS with die-cast parts.

The set contents:

• VF-1S Valkyrie, transformable between fighter, GERWALK and battroid
• Super Pack, detachable, mountable in all three modes
• gunpod with firing missiles and a mounting part
• swappable canopy cover with the skull mark
• sticker sheet

Bandai also lists two mechanical changes for this release: the VF-1S head can now tilt up and down, and a roll axis in the thigh widens GERWALK poses.

Why it matters if you missed the first run

Bandai bills this as the second release in the revived Origin of Valkyrie line, following the VF-1J 45th Anniv. Roy Focker’s Skull-1 is the signature VF-1S, and packaging it with the Super Pack at ¥19,800 gives you the “Super Valkyrie” configuration in one purchase rather than hunting for a separate armor set.

Bandai’s product page lists the USA among the sales regions, so US retailers may list it after the Japanese shops do. September 1 at 0:00 JST is Monday, August 31 at 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT); individual shops may open their pages later in the Japanese business day.
