Kotobukiya opens maker pre-orders for the Megami Device “Desire Maiden Medic Night Shift” plastic kit on Wednesday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. JST — Tuesday, September 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT — and the full product information goes public at the same moment. Price and release date have not been announced: Kotobukiya’s blog gives neither, and HOBBY Watch lists both as undecided. For overseas buyers, the practical point is that export shops follow the maker’s timing. HLJ and AmiAmi listed Skoll Sharpshooter Tempest on its opening day last week, so expect the same here.
What Night Shift is
Medic Night Shift is a color variation of Desire Maiden Raider, reworked in dark, mysterious “night mission” tones with clear parts in a blood-red shade. Character design is credited to 雨間 (no reading given), mechanical design to Task (たすく).
The equipment pushes the medical theme further than a recolor. The main gun fires ampule rounds (the ampules accept a 3 mm plastic rod), scalpels stow inside the wings, and the wings flip upside down to sit like forward-swept wings. The rear hangers are movable, and the whole back unit detaches to stand on its own as a flight support unit. Two styles of “MEGANE” glasses are included.
Underneath is the Block2-M body in the pale Skin Color C, with the Block2-M chest and pants, and the kit can also be built in bare-body mode.
Faces and bonus parts
Three newly designed printed faces come in the box — a scornful look, a smile, and an exhausted end-of-night-shift face (our translations of the Japanese names) — plus three blank faces for decals. Bonus parts are the chest parts and head mecha from Raider, so you can mix the two configurations.
A separate M.S.G Eye Decal Set for Night Shift (eyes in five colors, a dark eye set, closed eyes, mouths, and cheeks) opens for pre-order at the same time and is sold separately.
How to order from overseas
Kotobukiya’s own pre-orders come first on the 9th, and the blog says retailers open in turn after that. For Skoll that meant same-day listings at HLJ and AmiAmi, and HLJ’s first allocation closed the day it opened, which is why timing matters. Skoll had no pre-order deadline; if this kit follows it, the window runs until each shop’s allocation fills.
