Frame Arms Girl Kagutsuchi-Otsu Sniper Kit Pre-Orders

Kotobukiya opened pre-orders today, September 3 at 11:00 a.m. JST (10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT on September 2), for the Frame Arms Girl Kagutsuchi-Otsu Sniper, a heavy-armor mecha-girl plastic kit built around a 235 mm long-range cannon: ¥9,900 (about $65) tax-in, roughly 200 mm tall, shipping February 2027. Overseas buyers can order right now without a proxy — HobbyLink Japan listed it day one at ¥8,820 (about $60), and AmiAmi’s English store has it at ¥9,400 (about $65).

What Kagutsuchi-Otsu is

Kagutsuchi is a heavily armored machine from Kotobukiya’s original Frame Arms mecha line, designed by Wataru Inata. For Frame Arms Girl, illustrator Doyou reworked it as an original girl character, and this Otsu (“type B”) kit takes the Sniper variant, stacking extra armor and long-range weaponry on top of what Kotobukiya calls the thickest proportions in the series to date — heavier even than the earlier Kagutsuchi-Kou. The kit can also be built and displayed in an unarmored base-body mode.

The centerpiece is the Type 110 Extra Long Range Cannon “Murakumo,” a 235 mm-long piece the girl steadies with a back-mounted sub arm; Kou’s rifle is included too. The legs carry high-speed roller units, two waist boosters form the skirt armor, and the large layered shield can be broken down, held in a compact grip form, or clipped under the feet as snowshoes for soft ground. Even the noren-style curtain armor over the chest is articulated — Kotobukiya’s product blog jokes it may be the model kit industry’s first movable shop curtain.

As usual for the line, the runners are molded in separate colors with tampo-printed faces, so it builds up without paint, and the 3 mm joints take parts from M.S.G, Frame Arms, Megami Device, Hexa Gear, Sousai Shojo Teien, and Arcanadea kits.

No deadline, but don’t sit on it

Kotobukiya lists no pre-order deadline — orders run until each shop’s allocation fills. That is not a theoretical risk with these kits: HLJ closed its first allocation of the Megami Device Skoll Sharpshooter Tempest the same day it opened yesterday. As of this afternoon JST, the Kagutsuchi-Otsu Sniper is still orderable at both HLJ and AmiAmi. Pre-order 101 explains how these allocation windows work if you are new to them.
