Kotobukiya opened pre-orders today, September 2 at 11:00 a.m. JST (10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT on September 1), for the Megami Device YGGDRASIS Skoll Sharpshooter Tempest, a desert-camouflage recolor of its sniper-themed mecha-girl model kit: ¥7,920 (about $55) tax-in, about 158 mm tall, shipping January 2027. Demand is already biting for overseas buyers — HobbyLink Japan put up a listing and closed its first allocation the same day, while AmiAmi’s English store is still taking orders at ¥7,120 (about $48) with a limit of two per person.
What Tempest changes
YGGDRASIS is the Megami Device sub-line that mixes Norse-mythology characters with hard military design, and Skoll Sharpshooter is its second machine, a long-range specialist built around a large sniper rifle. Tempest is Kotobukiya’s follow-up color variation: earth-tone “desert spec” armor plus three newly drawn pre-painted face parts by character designer Nidy-2D-, positioned as the counterpart to the cold-weather Garm Ripper Avalanche variant announced earlier this year.
The rifle breaks down — barrel, stock, and scope detach — and folds into a stowed form that mounts on the back, with a high-detail handgun as backup. The articulated shoulder mantle-shields have deployable blades, and the body underneath is Masaki Apsy’s Machineca Block2-M frame in Skin Color E, so it poses and parts-swaps like the rest of the line.

Availability: no deadline, but allocations matter
Kotobukiya lists no pre-order deadline for the kit — orders run until each shop’s allocation fills, and HLJ’s same-day cutoff shows how fast that can happen with this line (its page now offers a restock notification, and its ¥7,056 price may return in a later round). AmiAmi’s 10%-off ¥7,120 listing was still open as of this evening JST. Where to buy
At roughly $48–55 before shipping, this is a far lower entry point than the scale figures Kotobukiya opened last week — the 1/8 Renne Bright runs ¥25,300 — and kits ship in a light, small box that keeps postage reasonable. The Amazon US link below is a search page until a listing appears.
Most Japanese shops ship worldwide by EMS/DHL (7–14 days). Duties and import taxes are charged on delivery in most countries — check your local threshold before ordering.
