Chogokin Mechagodzilla and MonsterArts Godzilla Pre-Orders

Bandai opened orders Sep 3 for Chogokin Mechagodzilla in Ohrai poster colors (¥22,000, closes Sep 27) and MonsterArts Godzilla poster ver. (¥12,100).

Bandai Spirits opened the Chogokin Mechagodzilla (Noriyoshi Ohrai Poster Ver.) on the Tamashii Web Shop on September 3, 2026 at 16:00 JST: ¥22,000 (about $150), shipping January 2027, with orders closing September 27 at 23:00 JST, which is 10:00 a.m. ET / 7:00 a.m. PT that Sunday. A companion S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (Poster Color Ver.) -Movie Graphic Plus- opened at the same time at ¥12,100 (about $85), shipping February 2027, with no closing date posted. Both are built from Ohrai’s 1993 poster art rather than the movie suits, and both are web-shop items in Japan. As of Friday morning JST neither is on Premium Bandai USA’s upcoming list, so US buyers should plan on a proxy, and since the two ship a month apart, on either forwarding fees or a wait for the second box.

Chogokin Mechagodzilla (Noriyoshi Ohrai Poster Ver.)

This is a recolor of a Chogokin that last shipped in 2017 under the Chogokin Tamashii MIX label. Bandai describes the change as a switch from the muted, suit-like silver of the 2017 release to a glossy silver with a blue tint. The transformation system is unchanged: three G-Force craft named Garuda, Gandharva and Naga each transform and combine into the roughly 170 mm Mechagodzilla, in ABS, diecast and PVC. A stand for Garuda is included.

The design itself is the version Ohrai painted for the poster, with the twin tail fins and the shoulder-mounted cannon, not the film’s Mechagodzilla suit. The short manga by Shinji Nishikawa on the origin of the 2017 figure, originally printed in that release’s booklet, is free to read on the Yanchan Web manga site.

S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (Poster Color Ver.) -Movie Graphic Plus-

The companion piece is the 1993 Godzilla as painted on the same poster, sculpted, painted and produced by Yuji Sakai. Bandai says the whole body is colored to the poster’s palette with brushwork added to match the illustration, and the inside of the mouth gets a glow-effect paint job. The figure is about 160 mm in PVC and articulated for the poster pose.

“Movie Graphic Plus” means the box also holds a PET plate printed with the Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II poster art plus a paper stand, for display behind the figure.

Why it matters overseas

Bandai calls the 2017 Chogokin Mechagodzilla a “phantom” item and lists no rerun of it, so a recolor at ¥22,000 is the first chance in nine years to get the transforming trio at list price, with a finish Bandai says is meant to sit closer to the poster than the suit-toned 2017 paint. Pairing it with a poster-color Godzilla from Sakai, whom Bandai describes as the leading Godzilla sculptor, makes this a matched set for anyone who owns the 1993 poster or the Blu-ray.

The two items run on different clocks. The Chogokin has a hard close on September 27 at 23:00 JST, a Sunday morning in the US, and Bandai’s page adds that it can end sooner if the prepared quantity runs out. The MonsterArts Godzilla has no posted deadline and carries only the quantity warning. If you want both, the Chogokin is the one to order first.

Bandai’s region list includes the USA, but nothing is posted on the US side yet. The dependable route is a proxy service ordering from the Japanese Premium Bandai page now and forwarding the parcels when they ship in early 2027. For the current film, Bandai’s retail Godzilla -0.0 Movie Monster and Kaiju-Oh figures are the cheaper route, and the Chogokin line’s other 2026 revival, GoLion, shows how quickly diecast reissues move.
