Vertex has opened pre-orders for the twentieth villager in its original Elf Village line: Baira, a 1/6 scale dancer designed by illustrator Shiokonbu, at ¥36,300 (about $245) tax-in, roughly 260 mm tall, shipping January 2027. Orders started August 28 (JST). The limited edition, which adds a second face, a display base and a tapestry, is sold only through the Vertex antenna shop inside AmiAmi’s Japanese store, one per customer, with a deadline of October 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. JST (10:59 a.m. ET / 7:59 a.m. PT that Thursday); reaching it from overseas means a proxy. The standard edition should turn up at the export shops in due course, and no deadline has been published for it.

The figure

Baira is a dancer, and the figure catches her mid-step with a large fan in one hand, her hair swinging and her green-and-gold costume in motion. Vertex’s blog bills her as a “plump and cute” dancer elf. The waist skirt and the fan are removable so the display can be changed, and a spare hand without the fan is included. Sculpting is by Fortunation, with paint by Kazuhiro Sumita.

Elf Village is an original series rather than an anime tie-in: each numbered villager is drawn by a guest illustrator, and Baira is the twentieth. Dengeki Hobby’s write-up pitches her as a cheerful performer with a competitive streak, and the pose reads as playful rather than static. Standard vs. limited edition

The limited edition is priced the same as the standard release but adds three items: a second face with a troubled expression, a special moss-covered base with a gold-framed stand, and an A3 tapestry. It is listed on AmiAmi Japan under the Vertex antenna shop, limited to one per customer, and AmiAmi’s Japanese storefront does not serve overseas addresses directly. Buying it means going through Buyee or ZenMarket, which adds a service fee and domestic-to-international shipping on top of the figure; our proxy comparison breaks down what that costs for a figure this size.

The standard edition is the figure alone. AmiAmi Japan lists it at ¥30,850 (about $208), below the ¥36,300 suggested price, and AmiAmi’s discounts usually carry over to the English store once a listing appears. Neither AmiAmi’s English site nor HLJ had the item when we checked on August 30.

What overseas buyers should watch
