The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS <SIDE MS> Gundam Double X now has a price and a date: ¥24,200 (about $165) tax-in, with pre-orders opening on the Tamashii Web Shop inside Premium Bandai on September 4, 2026 at 16:00 JST — that is 3:00 a.m. ET / midnight PT early Friday morning, so US buyers either set an alarm or trust that the listing survives until breakfast. Shipping is planned for February 2027. Like the PROPLICA G Controller from the same 30th-anniversary program, this is a web-shop exclusive in Japan, not a general-retail release, and as of September 3 the USA tab on Tamashii Web shows no sales information — so plan on a proxy unless a Premium Bandai USA listing appears.

What it is

This is the first METAL ROBOT SPIRITS from the series’ anniversary program: the Gundam Double X, the successor unit Garrod flies in the second half of the series, built at about 150 mm tall in ABS, diecast and PVC. Note it is the standard METAL ROBOT SPIRITS line, not a Ka signature release.

The headline gimmick is the twin satellite cannon. Bandai says the reflectors, energy radiators and the cannons themselves all deploy with no part swapping, and the diecast joints are dressed up with plating, polarized foil, and pearl and metallic paint. The set includes the DX’s dedicated buster rifle, the defense plate, three pairs of swap hands, swap antenna parts, two hyper beam sword effect parts, joint parts and a stand. There is no G-Falcon in the box; Bandai previously sold the G-Falcon as a separate ROBOT SPIRITS item.

Why it matters overseas

When the Double X was first shown on August 24 it was a prototype with no price or date, and we said it was worth a watch rather than a wallet. Now it is concrete, and the ¥24,200 sticker lands in the usual METAL ROBOT SPIRITS range — the hololive-color Sazabi from the same shop ran ¥28,600. For a series that went decades with almost no high-end merchandise, a diecast Double X with the full cannon deployment sequence is the anniversary centerpiece, and web-shop items do not get rerun on a schedule.

The 16:00 JST start is the practical catch. Tamashii Web Shop orders have no posted deadline and close whenever the planned run is spoken for; popular Gundam items can last weeks or disappear in days. If it is still orderable when the US wakes up Friday, there is no need to lose sleep — but there is no way to know in advance.

How to buy

Bandai’s region list includes the USA, and the hololive METAL ROBOT SPIRITS pair did get Premium Bandai USA listings, so a domestic US option is plausible — but nothing is posted yet, and waiting for one is a bet against the allocation running out. The reliable route is a proxy service ordering from the Japanese Premium Bandai page at or after the 16:00 JST opening and forwarding the box when it ships in February 2027. Our Buyee vs ZenMarket comparison covers the fees and the second shipping leg.

We will track this on the Pre-order Radar as an open-until-sold-out entry, and it joins the G Controller on the After War Gundam X hub — two Tamashii web exclusives shipping the same month, if you are budgeting for both.

Most Japanese shops ship worldwide by EMS/DHL (7–14 days). Duties and import taxes are charged on delivery in most countries — check your local threshold before ordering.
