Gundam Base Shibuya Opens November 2026 at Shibuya PARCO

THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA opens at Shibuya PARCO 5F in November 2026, its first full store in central Tokyo; store-only MG Kyrios Trans-Am lands Sep 19.

Bandai Spirits announced on September 9 that THE GUNDAM BASE SHIBUYA will open in November 2026 on the 5th floor of Shibuya PARCO, at 15-1 Udagawacho in Shibuya Ward — the chain’s first full store in central Tokyo; the existing Tokyo flagship is out in Odaiba, and the rest of the network is Fukuoka, New Chitose Airport, Shizuoka and satellite counters. Until now the Tokyo flagship meant a trip out to Odaiba; this one is a short walk from Shibuya Station on the JR Yamanote loop, which puts store-only Gunpla inside a normal sightseeing day, just in time for the winter travel season.

What was announced

The official post is brief: the name, the address, Bandai Spirits as the planner, and “November 2026, planned.” No floor size, no opening date, and no word yet on Shibuya-only items; the company says details will follow on the Gundam Base site. HOBBY Watch’s report the same evening adds nothing beyond the official notice. It is the second new store in a week, after Gundam Base Osaka was set for February 2027 at Lucua in Umeda.

Why Shibuya matters for a Japan trip

Gundam Base Tokyo in DiverCity is a fine store, but Odaiba is a detour on the Yurikamome or Rinkai lines, and its neighborhood lost the Unicorn statue on August 31. Shibuya is the opposite: the station sits on the Yamanote loop plus several Tokyo Metro and private lines, and most first-time visitors are there anyway for the crossing.

The building helps too. PARCO’s own shop pages list Nintendo TOKYO, Pokémon Center Shibuya, CAPCOM STORE TOKYO and the Jump Shop on the 6th floor, one level above the new Gundam Base, so one elevator ride covers a large share of a Tokyo merch run. Whether Shibuya gets items of its own on top of the network-wide Gundam Base exclusives is not yet announced.

One planning note carries over from the Osaka piece: November is a target, not a date. If the store is the reason for the trip, wait for the official opening announcement before booking.

A store-only MG in the meantime: Kyrios Trans-Am, September 19

The same day, Gundam Base posted its next exclusive kit. The MG 1/100 Gundam Kyrios (Trans-Am Mode) [Metallic Gloss Injection] is ¥5,830 (about $40) and goes on sale September 19, a Saturday, at Gundam Base stores, for ages 15 and up. The kit uses gloss-injection molding for a metallic red finish that reads as the Trans-Am state, adds newly printed water-slide decals with markings recolored to match, keeps the frame-based transformation to mobile-armor mode, and includes the GN Beam Submachine Gun, GN Beam Saber and the other weapons from the show.

As of September 10 the product page showed no stock at Tokyo, Fukuoka, the New Chitose Airport Annex or GUNDAM SIDE-F, which is normal before release; satellite counters carry only part of the lineup. There is no overseas retail channel for this kit: Gundam Base exclusives are not distributed to HLJ, AmiAmi or Amazon, so the choices are a store visit or a proxy buying from the aftermarket, where you should expect a markup.
